Ronnie Musgrove

Ronnie Musgrove served as the Governor of Mississippi from 2000 – 2004, focusing his efforts strongly on education. He recognized that economic growth and development stems from an educated workforce. However, he didn’t stop there. He cared deeply for the Mississippi public school system and pushed for economic and educational growth starting at the public education level. He understood Mississippi needed to take great strides in economic development, and from Governor Musgrove's efforts, Nissan Motor Corporation based their flagship automobile assembly plant in Canton, Mississippi, creating 30,000 jobs and bringing in over $1.4 billion in revenue.
